The student council of GRV BMA College organized a Blood Donation Camp by Suraksha Blood Centre and Eye Screening Camp by Vasan Eye Care and the event was conducted on April 30, 2024 with the aim of promoting health awareness and community service among students and faculty.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP:
The blood donation was organized by Suraksha Blood Centre. The program was commenced at 11:00 am and continued until 2:00 pm. Trained medical professionals from the local hospital were present to oversee the donation process. An awareness session was conducted before the process could start. Donors underwent a brief medical examination to ensure eligibility for donation. A total of 12 units of blood were collected, significantly contributing to the local blood bank and potentially saving many lives.
EYE SCREENING CAMP:
Simultaneously, an eye checkup camp was set up by Vasan Eye Care and certified optometrists provided comprehensive eye examinations to attendees, including vision tests and screenings for common eye conditions. Participants were offered free consultations and guidance on maintain good eye health, several individuals were identified with refractive errors and other eye issues, and they were referred for further treatment or corrective measures.
The blood donation camp and eye checkup event at GRV BMA saw a fostering culture of health awareness and community engagement by facilitating blood donations and providing an essential eye care services, the event made appositive impact on the wellbeing of both college community and surrounding area.
