GRV Business Management Academy celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava on 01.11.2019.
Kannada Rajyotsava or Kannada Day, also known as Karnataka Formation Day or Karnataka Rajyotsava, is celebrated on 1 November of every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka Rajyotsava day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm all over the state of Karnataka. The entire state wears a festive look on this day as the red and yellow Kannada flags are hoisted at different strategic locations across the state and the Kannada.
The event began with flag hosting and Naada geethe. This was followed by lightning of the lamp by the event chief guests Smt.B T Lalitha Naik, Mr.Madan gowda, Mr. Gururaj Mansabdar Director GRVBMA, Mr.Munir Ahmed Academic director, GRVBMA and Dr. Prabhudev B C Principal, GRVBMA.
Chief guest Smt. B.T. Lalitha Naik is an Indian politician, writer, and social activist. A former minister for Kannada, Culture, and Department of Women & Child Welfare in the Government of Karnataka. Smt. Naik has also served as an MLC (1986-1992) and MLA (1994-1999). She won the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award in 1991. She is also known for leading important literary, social and language-rights movements such as Bandaya movement and Gokak agitation. Chief guest Mr. Madan gowda is a kick boxer representing Karnataka in various competations.
Welcome of chief guests was done by Mrs. Vijayalakshmi B, Assistant Professor, Kannada Department followed by the speech of chief guests.
In appreciation to our Kannada naadu, the students depicted the culture of our land through dance and other cultural activities and expressed the significance of the day.
