A countrywide Pulse Polio Programme for 2021 was held in city in collaboration with BBMP ward Hebbal health department and NSS unit. NSS students of GRVBMA participated in the Polio vaccination camp from 31-1- 21 to 3-2-21. The number of students volunteers participated in camp was 42. All the students were trained and instructed about the pulse polio vaccination one day before the programme. They were instructed to handle the vaccine box and polio drops. They were also asked to take the precautionary measures to safeguard themselves from the Corona Virus.
The day kick started with a lot of enthusiasm and a spirit of team work rose in everyone's heart. Booths were located at different places across Ganganagar and near by places. In order to assist the volunteers in immunization booth, several supervisors were appointed from hospital. Supervisors were allocated at all the booths with 2 volunteers respectively. There were children from 0-5 years who visited the booth to get the polio drops for free. The volunteers were at the service from 7:00am to 5:00 pm.
By end of the day almost all booths had achieved successful result and volunteers were very happy.
On 2nd, 3rd and 4th day, 2 teams were set up consisting of 4 members in each group. The teams were in the service from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Volunteers along with supervisors visited many houses of the allocated area and gave the polio drops to the children of age 0-5 years. Approximately 300 children were vaccinated each day by student volunteers.
With this campaign GRV BMA NSS Volunteers got the opportunity to serve the nation with a great motto.
