On the Platform of GRV BMA - Commerce and Management Forum as Con-Quest a Debate competition was conducted on 09/09/2026 at GRV BMA College to provide students with a platform to develop their communication skills, confidence, critical thinking, reasoning, and presentation skills. The activity encouraged students to express their opinions clearly, listen to different perspectives, and participate in constructive discussions.

Five teams participated in the debate, and each team was assigned a current business or career-related topic. The topics discussed were "Work from Home vs. Work from Office," "Local Brand vs. International Brand," "Online Banking vs. Traditional Banking," "Start-up vs. Job," and "Traditional Marketing vs. Digital Marketing." Students prepared their topics in advance and presented arguments both in favour of and against the given topics with relevant examples.

The students actively responded to the points raised by the opposing teams and participated in healthy discussions. The debate helped them improve their public speaking, listening, reasoning, teamwork, and ability to present their views with confidence. A final round was also conducted on the topic “Is Technology Making People Less Social?” Students discussed both the positive and negative effects of technology on social interaction. They shared their views on digital communication, social media, online connectivity, and the importance of face-to-face interaction. The final round provided students with an opportunity to discuss a relevant contemporary issue from different perspectives.

The teams were assessed based on content, quality of arguments, communication, confidence, presentation, rebuttal, and teamwork. The activity encouraged students to think critically and respond effectively to different viewpoints.

The Con-Quest Debate was successfully conducted with active participation from the students. It was an informative and engaging activity that helped students connect classroom knowledge with real-world business, career, and social topics. Overall, the programme provided a valuable platform for students to develop their confidence, communication skills, critical thinking, reasoning, and teamwork.
