With great zeal and enthusiasm, GRV BMA Degree College successfully hosted "Lilayam Utsav 2.0" on Thursday, 30th April 2026. The event stood as a vibrant celebration of India's cultural diversity, bringing together students in a spirit of unity, creativity, and healthy competition.
This year's fest followed a thematic approach, with students divided into three teams representing prominent Indian festivals - Dasara, Lohri, and Makara Sankranti. Each team was assigned a classroom, which they transformed into a cultural space reflecting the essence, traditions, and aesthetics of their respective festivals. The decorations were thoughtfully designed, showcasing traditional elements, festive symbols, and artistic creativity that brought each theme to life.
In addition to the classroom presentations, students also highlighted the rich culinary heritage associated with their festivals. Each team prepared and displayed traditional food items, offering a delightful glimpse into the flavors and customs of different regions of India. These food exhibits added an interactive and sensory dimension to the fest, making the experience more immersive.
The cultural celebrations extended to the auditorium, where students presented a variety of stage performances. These included dances, dramas, and other creative acts inspired by their assigned festival themes. The performances reflected dedication, teamwork, and a deep understanding of cultural traditions, captivating the audience throughout the event.
The program was graciously honored by the distinguished presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Mrs. Poonam Sabharwal (Secretary), Mr. Gururaj (President), Mr. Muneer Ahmed respected Program Director. Their valuable presence elevated the significance of the occasion, inspiring the participants and adding great prestige to the event. Their words of encouragement and support motivated the students to perform with confidence and excellence.
The judging panel, comprising highly respected and experienced faculty members from the School and PUC sections of GRV, carried out their responsibilities with utmost fairness and dedication. Their keen observation, thoughtful evaluation, and constructive insights played a vital role in recognizing and appreciating the efforts, creativity, and talent displayed by the participants, thereby upholding the spirit and integrity of the competition.
The efforts of the students were truly commendable. From conceptualizing ideas to executing them with precision, they demonstrated exceptional teamwork and enthusiasm. The guidance and support of the faculty played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth conduct and grand success of the event.
After a day filled with vibrant performances and impressive displays, the Makara Sankranti team emerged as the overall winner, securing the trophy with their outstanding presentation and coordination.
"Lilayam Utsav 2.0" was more than just a fest - it was a meaningful celebration of cultural heritage and unity in diversity. The event created lasting memories for everyone involved and once again highlighted the talent, creativity, and collaborative spirit of the students of GRV BMA Degree College.
