A two-day Youth Red Cross Training Programme was organised by Bengaluru City University on 18th and 19th September 2026 at the Jnana Jyoti Auditorium, Bengaluru. The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among students about first aid, disaster management, emergency response, fire safety and essential life skills.
Students from our college actively participated in the training programme. The programme was inaugurated in the presence of distinguished guests and dignitaries, including Prof. B. Ramesh, Vice-Chancellor, Bengaluru City University; Mr. Balkrishna Shetty AB, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bengaluru Urban District; Prof.Ramesh B. Kudenatti, Registrar (Evaluation); and Ms. Vijayalakshmi M. V., Finance Officer.
The two-day training programme included informative and practical sessions on Youth Red Cross orientation, first aid and emergency response, fire safety and rescue procedures, and disaster management. The sessions provided students with valuable knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively to emergencies and unforeseen situations.
The programme also emphasised the importance of service, responsibility, teamwork, leadership and community participation. Our students actively participated in the various sessions and gained practical knowledge that will help them handle emergency situations with greater awareness and confidence.
On successful completion of the training programme, the participating students were awarded certificates in recognition of their active participation and successful completion of the Youth Red Cross Training Programme.
The Youth Red Cross Training Programme organised by Bengaluru City University was a valuable and enriching experience for our students. The programme helped them develop essential skills and awareness in first aid, emergency response, fire safety and disaster management, while also encouraging the spirit of service and social responsibility.
The active participation of our students and the certificates received by them reflect their enthusiasm and commitment towards Youth Red Cross activities. Overall, the programme contributed significantly to enhancing the students' preparedness, confidence, life-saving skills and sense of community service.
